Using systematic reviews to guide disinvestment decisions in NHS commissioning

This NIHR Cochrane NHS Engagement funded research seeks to identify the key difficulties NHS commissioners face when using evidence from systematic reviews to develop guidelines for decommissioning, and the problems experienced by health care providers and clinicians when implementing the evidence from these guidelines into clinical decisions. In addition we will conduct a systematic search of organisational structures, strategies or information products promoting the uptake of evidence from systematic reviews.  The results of these two research projects will be used to guide the selection and development of strategies (or information products) to promote and support the application of evidence from systematic reviews.
