Welcome to the UK Cochrane Centre website

UKCC, Summertown Pavilion, Middle Way   The UK Cochrane Centre (UKCC) was established at the end of 1992, by the National Health Service Research and Development Programme and is now part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The Centre hosted the initial Cochrane Colloquium in 1993 in Oxford, at which the international Cochrane Collaboration was launched, and the fourteenth Colloquium in 2006 in Dublin. Following our external review in 2008/09, the main objectives of the Centre relate to providing training and support to Cochrane entities and contributors to The Cochrane Collaboration in the UK, Ireland, and some other countries; knowledge brokerage; and conducting a methodology and audit programme. The Centre acts as key link between the Collaboration, its systematic reviews, and the National Health Service in the UK.
